Mr. E Boat

  Dayton has moved and we did install a portable covering for better workspace. The boat stands came from a very nice man at "Katlynn Marine" (info below) we found on vacation. This is a full service boat yard with the most excellent people. Now Dayton can begin working on the bottom and hopefully we will see some progress soon.   Dalton has finally gotten some more fiberglass work done to the wings.  Now that the weather has started to cooperate, he is hoping to get the glass  work all done in the next couple months.

It may look like avocado dip right now but when it smoothed out  Mr. E will be one slick ship. Lots of work left to be done. 

  Beth says "Why's my boat green?".  Answer: TotalFair from James Town Distributors.  This is a 2 part epoxy fairing compound used by boat builders to achieve a slick surface. Eventually the whole boat will be covered in this stuff and sanded smooth before any priming and painting can be done. There is a LlllloOOoonNNnnGGGGgggG way to go yet.  Dalton still has to wrapped the other side of the boat in biaxial cloth and epoxy but it has been too hot. This green area was being done due to the weather.

  We were thinking the sides of the boat would be okay as they were.  Dalton suggested complete exterior glassing would be best.  This will take much more time and materials but the finished product will be better for it. 

  Just getting things ready to hook up. New 9 foot switch and throttle cables fitted.  New harness and everything is being routed to the engine.   Fridge is installed. Next to it will be the hot water heater. Behind the hot water heater will be a 10 gallon fresh water tank with 12 volt water pump that will supply a faucet. The butane stove will be stored under the counter top in the area above the fridge when not in use.

  Dalton has been busy. Glassing over everything up top.  Window frames are being reinforced with bi-axial mat and resin.  Pretty soon the entire outside will be done this way.  Will be stronger than any other boat on the water. lol. 

Dalton has been very busy. The refrigerator has been mounted. The bed area has been shored up. The rear bench seat is now in place and secured. Things are really starting to take shape now. Soon there will be a sink to go with the refrigerator and microwave with be mounted and a small portable stove will be used for cooking.  

Dalton got to poking around and discovered quite a few imperfections in the prior work that needed to be corrected. This has been quite a setback and is taking a lot to time and money to fix but it has to be done correctly.
